A true intellectual wouldn't start thread after thread about topics that invariably end in a purposeless argument that accomplished nothing. I've appealed to one to give it up, but he insists on getting torn apart and criticized time after time. I guess he's dedicated, got that going for him. But it doesn't seem very smart to me.
