Just because something "pays", does not mean that you should do it immediately, no matter what. Still need the cashflow. Maybe another big project has been taken on, maybe land was just purchased etc. Sometimes another factor besides economic factors prevents someone from making a change even if on paper, it "pays". Time, manpower, yard space constraints etc may be the limiting factor. Or an unwillingness to take on debt to make the project happen.
We have changes to our farm that I would like to make because they would "pay" but are biding our time till the timing is right.
