The rye won’t be big enough to effectively crimp in time for us to plant under normal conditions. We try to terminate it between 8-10”. We had it get 18-20” on us one year and was a complete mess to plant and one field was a disaster.

It is possible, but takes a different equipment setup to planter into.

8-10” gives us the benefits we are looking for while minimizing potential issues.
