West Texas | I see that now. At least two prior pandemics in the late 19th century. I guess the Spanish flu was just the first one people named/remembered.
Human travel has definitely exploded in recent history. Probably one of the reasons why big cities were the first to experience the pandemic. That and just being too close together.
It’s a good thing we closed the border to China when we did. Hesitating would have, no doubt, brought many more infected people into the country before we had tools to combat the virus. | |
