SEQ, Australia | 4 or 5 satellites is barely enough to figure out a position. 6 or 7 and you're OK. If it is happening at a similar time of day, then it is a constellation issue and you will just have to wait 15-20min for other satellites to appear and fill in the blank spots (this will go away eventually as satellite orbits get higher on the horizon).
If it comes and goes quickly (like from 8-9 sats down to 4-5 sats in a matter of seconds) then you could have a GPS antenna element issue, if you have another antenna you can swap it out with this will help eliminate hardware issues.
The other thing I have noticed a lot more of is cheap electronic devices in the cabs (phone chargers, FM Radio transmitters etc) emit a lot of electrical noise that can also knock out GPS frequencies at close range.
