The old Gleaner conventionals were the best you could get in that regard. Lots of difference between just looking at the volume and actually grabbing a handful to see what all was in there.

On my L2, I cut the bottom slide out of the chute and installed a hinged bottom that I could open or close with a control rod that extended into the cab. If you got into a bunch of weedy stuff, you could open the door and dump the returns onto the ground instead of circulating them until they were a ground up green mess.
