WI DHS did this with their maps a month or so ago, changed the reporting from the 7 day average of new infections to the 7 day total so the numbers were bigger, and went from neutral gray scales on the map to scarier red, orange and yellow.

Yes, the number of cases has been up, but nothing compared to last summer when everyone was a lot more vigilant and most big events were cancelled.

Kinda like the MN radio ads last fall (that only ran for a few days), that flat out said there will never be a return to normal. Wish I'd recorded that one before they pulled it.

It's all about shock value, and if John Q Public quits listening, they've lost. I think we're in the 8th inning and .gov is down by 5 and out of pitchers.
