Illinois Heartland | Trimec and most all the other chemicals knock it at the surface level but don’t totally kill the rhizomes underground. It will eventually come back.
If you want to eradicate it totally, Google “creeping charlie and borax”
Be careful using Borax though and follow the directions. It takes time to work. More is not better, you will kill your grass if you aren’t careful. Don’t ask my wife how I know.
