Someone from claims or insurance calls John Deere to verify....they run the serial and it's under someone's name. Could be the original owner, 2nd, 3rd, etc. It takes dealer 30 seconds to move one it seems normally. 

But you do NEED to have it in your name if you want to add activations or subscriptions. (mRTK, SF2/3, etc) Unless you want to pay for activations for "someone else's" receiver for no reason.
