The drought started about this time and the temperature cranked way up. Bad combination. At this point it’s really no comparison. Des Moines IA forecast for the next 2 weeks has 2 days where it gets over 90.
If you think the drought of 2012 didn't start in the fall of 2011 then you are a moron. Just like the drought of '88 didn't start in the fall of '87.


Moisture deficits starting July 2011 at Des Moines, and a hundred miles south of Des Moines where it was a lot worse.
