Pilot Grove, Missouri | 2nd day of picking mine here. I usually get 3-5 gallons per year out of my few patches. I LOVE black raspberry pie and vanilla bean ice cream. The trick to keeping them is to spread about a quart out on a big cookie sheet after washing them and freezing them individually first. Then once frozen solid put them in a quart zip lock bag and put them back in a chest deep freezer. That way you don’t get a big frozen block of berry mush. We can keep them for several years this way and pull them out and still make great pies. | |
