| I just completed a repair on my cylinder, using JB weld. Mine were nicks, not worn chrome and pits, so don't know how well it will work for you. I did replace all the seals though. My cylinder is still not leaking, but haven't used it that much. The first step is to file any high spots down. Use progressively finer sand paper, starting with 600 grit, ending with crocus cloth. Use the sandpaper in a shoe shine type movement. Clean really well. Apply JB weld, let cure at least 24 hrs. Replace the seals. File down lightly first, then go through the sandpaper routine again. You should be able to drag a finger nail over it without any catching. Good luck. Do it right, do it once. Seal kit was about $35.00. | |
