2 thoughts here:

1) The nut should have been constantly retorqued daily until it stopped moving. That very likely would have saved it.
2) If the hole is the knuckle is worn (very likely from the sound of it), I'd grind the surface to a rough finish, smear some JB Weld inside of it, and then put the tie rod end into position. Assuming the tie rod end comes in from the bottom, I'd push up on it with a small bottle jack and put some upwards pressure on it, leaving it there with the pressure applied overnight to dry. I would then install and torque the nut in the morning, and then repeat step #1.

I've done this more than once with success. And, you don't have much to lose other than $5 worth of JB Weld and 15 minutes of your time. The beauty of this procedure is no machining at all. You could even re-use a worn tie rod end. The JB Weld will fill in all the irregular surfaces.
