thanks, lots of good NAT experience here. I ended up removing the tappered bushing the machine shop made for the tie rod end. I'lll give them another chance, and use some of that locktite superieor metal and lots of thread locker. No the nut is not a castle nut with cotter key, but a nylock ! might look for a different one.
