I'm setup for 3.5" to the side and about 4" deep. Last year I ran this mix with no problems

80lbs Map
80lbs Potash
275 lbs Urea
5 lbs zinc sulfate

There were areas I bumped the mix 25% and still no issues. Soil type will dictate how close you can be to the seed with a full rate of fertilizer. If you're getting it in 4" deep it will help a lot.
