We stocked our pond with channel cats and last year clened over 60 or them. Most in the 2-3# range. A lot of them were females with roe, but we never tried any of it. Wife wondered if they were good to eat but we have so much fish to eat it is not like we needed the additional food.

I'm sure the bluegill loved them though.
