Darling Downs, Queensland, Australia
Here on the Darling Downs wheat harvest is slowly beginning to ramp up. Been harvesting wheat the last 3 days average yield around 1.7-1.9t/ha. This is below average for this area. Hope to move further south east of Dalby to our second farm by the 24th Oct to begin wheat there which is 10 days ahead of normal start date. Hope to average 2.7-3.0t/ha there which would be average to slightly above.

Quality of wheat harvested in Qld to date has been excellent with low screenings of 2-3% a surprising result given the strange weather the last 2 months including a 35 degree heatwave in August. However that is offset by below to much below average yields for most areas of the state.

YTD rain is approx 280mm against a yearly average of 625mm.
