Subject: RE: Case 1070 tractor

NW Iowa
I bought a 1070 new and traded it off when it had 1800 hours and a bad powershift. I wish I could have kept it for light work and bought another bigger tractor for the heavy work but at that time money wouldn’t allow that. The 1070 wasn’t a big enough tractor for the acres I had at the time but it was a handy tractor. The long stroke engine and Bosch inline pump give it lots of low end power for putzing around. There is no need to rev the engine to get the tractor in motion, just leave the throttle at a low speed let the clutch out and go. It is an economical tractor at low speed and load like we saw when row crop cultivating. The economy goes down a bit with wide open load like heavy field work. The air conditioning was very adequate for me and the heater did a good job in the winter. The cab noise level is quieter than the older cabs. This was when the tractor was new. Back in those days Case and Deere’s 30 series had the best cabs. Case had the best cab before Deere’s 30 series came out.
