Subject: RE: Case 1070 tractor

I had a 1070 powershift and put 4000 hours on it. The engine went bad at 6000 hours and had updated the powersfift to the larger bolts. I had to put a ring and pinion in it. I think I caused that hitting the brake of the slipping wheel hard several times while chisel plowing manure ground. It ran good and was economical on fuel.
Replaced it with a Case 2294. I still use that tractor to plant, spray, and sidedress corn. It has 4800 hours on it and the powershift is still strong. It gets shifted from 1 to 3 and back to 1 every pass through the field.
I would recommend to look for a 94 series. It has better hydraulics, cab, and the hood tips up for easier service.
That being said I understand you wanting a 1070. It would work for the jobs you listed. Jim
