We did it with Zn sulfate 2 years ago on soybeans. It was trial only. Didn't take it to yield but tissue samples it every week. Did 5# 20#and 50# rate per acre banded on the surface next to the row. Didn't see enough difference to continue the trials and are selling the planter we used with the insecticide. I do think that this method gives opportunity to apply some micros efficiently. Just not sure Zn on beans is a good choice.
It's about formulation and placement. You can't just pick the cheapest most convenient form of a nutrient and put it anywhere you feel like and expect it to magically create yield. |
