How is your planter set up?
My COC after spring tillage came with a fifty bushel penalty this year due to dry conditions.
I rarely do COC, but wonder if no-till would have an advantage over darker "worked" soil due to providing a seed slot with less residue in contact with the seed than a spring disk and field cultivator pass. I see this in my beans planted no-till.
