| I was thinking about getting one a couple years ago, but didn't because I ended up building a new wet holding bin and putting a different bin on a hopper. Last spring I was able to try out a neighbor's Westfield 1535 field loader for a couple truck loads, it had a 10hp electric motor on it. The long field loader hopper worked great under the hopper bin, it's really low clearance an looks like it would work good under low bin unloads. It was pretty heavy, compared to our old 31' gas powered auger, it requires two people to move it around if not on cement. It really did fill the trucks fast, lots of capacity. The factory discharge spout was kind of dumb, it made the corn come out in a splatter, would need to modify it a little. It made more noise than I expected, but still quieter than the old gas auger. | |
