Franklinton, LA | I am not an irrigation expert and I am not sure I really understand your problem. However, I am going to make some assumptions and do some guessing. I am going to suggest dividing the field into 3 or 4 narrow sections and irrigate them one at a time. This will allow you to apply more gallons per minute per acre and push the water across the field a lot faster. I am also suggesting you shut the water off when it has flooded 2/3 or 3/4 of the way across the section. My objective is to reduce the time you are irrigating a section and apply less water per acre. This will help the field dry out quicker and not over water the crop. | |
