NW Central Ohio | Thanks for the pictures!...I hadn't taken any while powder welding anything. A friend of mine took an old intake manifold from something like a Duesenberg or another very rare automobile...and virtually completely rebuilt it for a guy because there wasn't a single one left in the country to replace it with. People had ground on it, welded it with a stick welder, brazed and patched.....and he got rid of all the nonsense and made it look virtually new. The guy that asked him to do it was amazed.
There is a spray welding process....that uses a different type of application equipment, but the bond that is formed is the same as with the powder torch. If you search Google for "Eutectic-Castolin Rototec" you would find YouTube videos that show it being used.
