Heck, maybe Thunderbird would interface with your other email. You can have multiple accounts on Thunderbird (I use two gmail accounts). It has a great spam filter. I never get spam, unless I just go look in the "spam" box to see what has accumulated.
I havent used the web browser to access gmail except for "fun" to see what it looks like (looks pretty lame to me)
