I too would like to know why it was a POS.
Lots of people around here have them.
I was talking to a older man who has had many of them and also every make of bale bed and he liked the 660. So much he had one he hadn't used in a year and he would not sell it to me. He will let me borrow it to copy.
They are very expensive.
I also do not want to remove my current bed. And I also do not want bale arms on my bed year round.
On my other truck maybe i would leave it on full time.
Well to start.
They will add nine inches to the length of you current bed this will make them too long to pull some gooseneck trailers.
If you find a trailer the length doesn't bother the spinners will have to come off every time your hooked to it so they don't get into the neck.
The way the fit on a bed makes a "cradle" on the front of the bed so that when the front bale (when your carrying 2) roles forward you wil never be able to get ahold of it again with the arms it will take a loader to get it off the truck.
As you pointed out for what they cost, your better off buying the whole bed.
It is going to be a day's job putting one on and off (another day) a truck different times of the year, once you get used to having a bale bed you will find uses for it year round.
Buy a hydrabed and be done with it. |
