E.Central MN | Sometimes they're more calm in the live trap when its getting close to dusk. I try to not agitate the skunk, just slowly get close enough to shoot it with the 22. But once you shoot it, you better be ready to grab the trap and take it to where you want to dump out the skunk because once its dead it will relax its muscles in minutes and will stink. I bait a live trap with some marshmallows. I used to use cat food, but would catch a cat once in a while. | |
