Subject: RE: Dryer malfunction, wet corn in bin

Remington, IN
Had a somewhat situation last year with an identical bin. Due to a moisture sensor not functioning properly, I inadvertently blew about 4K bushels of 18-19% corn on the very bottom before I caught what was going on. We do have a spreader on top that works maybe 1/2 way at best so we still had it in a "cone". I was pretty concerned about it all year & kept the fans on a little longer than normal and watched loads pretty close as they came out. The last corn didn't come out until the end of July and I was very pleasantly surprised. It came out the same as everything else, between 14 & 15%. The fans must have dried it out and worked the front up through the grain. Based on that, and how little you put in a large bin, I would run the fans and carry on. Your results may vary:).
