Why do so many equate socialism with anything the government spends money on. The VA is a socialized healthcare system run by the government. Your local hospital is not even tho they accept payments from Medicare and Medicaid. Can folks not see the difference between the VA hospital and other hospitals.

Food stamp system is welfare not socialism. You use them at the grocery store which is not run by the government. 
Farm subsidies are not socialism. It is also not welfare. Farmer has to actually do work, raise things, get out of bed and put on pants to get the money.

I am not a fan of farm subsidies at all never have been, but to my recollection the current $55 and the previous one is about the only think livestock folks have ever gotten from government.  I will take mine and any of yours if you don't want it and it ain't mf socialism.

Are there any cattle producers buying calves with the expectation that they will get gov. money next year? Of course  not.  
We have a pandemic, the gov. felt stimulating the economy with cash would lessen the severity of a recession, seem to have worked. But neither party was jumping up and down say no to the money. Trillions, dems wanted even more than the president as supported. 

The government can spend money fast or well but not both. They opted for speed for obvious reason this. I am sick of this socialism BS
