Subject: RE: Stock market beginner advice needed

Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa
Vanguard index fund of your choosing. Low fees. Get on a schedule of buying some monthly, quarterly, whatever. I saw some report once, even if you bought in at the high prices, given enough time, you still came out just fine in the end. Read on here recently, forget who it was, maybe someone quoting Buffet, unless you have an hour a day to study the market, just buy an index fund. Best time to sell a stock = never. Time is your ally.

Now if I just would have been smart enough to have followed this fine advice myself 40 years ago, I would be sitting pretty today. I did buy, on advice from the first stockbroker I used, $500 worth of 4 different stocks: some set of banks in North Dakota, Coca-Cola, some new upstart chain store out of Benton, Arkansas which no one had every heard, and some 4th stock long since forgotten. Kept for about 2 years, got married, thought I needed the money, sold them all. Idiot.
