First of all, your story needs to be put in context. Did it take place in the slums or in the ritzy area of town? If in the slums, the police would likely randomly stop any 2 men, regardless of colour. Next, just what type of behaviour did the two men exhibit that resulted in it escalating to the point of shooting? Did the two black men respect the, I assume white, officer the way they expected to be respected?

I can tell you a true story of how I was also targeted like that. A few years ago I was driving home around 9 o’clock in the evening in my old beat up farm truck. A police car came flying up behind me and the lights came on. I pulled over and the cops asked me a whole series of questions. They seemed very concerned that I might have been drinking and they were wondering where I came from and where I was going at that time of night. I politely answered their questions, and luckily they backed off and went on their way without escalating the situation.

I can only assume it was an act of racism and they targeted me because I was white. There is no other explanation. Luckily and amazingly, they didn’t go crazy in their hatred of white people and shoot me as I politely respected them.
