So would a forward sales contract from like video auction qualify? Those cattle are purchased, and dowm payment made. However states that don't have brand laws, could both parties claim ownership? Here ownership is only proven with brand on cattle or brand inspection papers stating when ownership transfers. I can see this throwing a big wrench into things and I'm sure some have done it.
