a pre can never hold too long, you shoulda just went in and sprayed when it was "time" not when the weeds broke through. If it wasn't for the volunteer corn we coulda waited too, but that woulda been the wrong decision. I look around and see the fewest escapes in a few years. The pre's all worked great here and guys were rolling cause the calendar said to, not the weeds.
