NE ND | This is an interesting thread. A lot has changed in 10 years. I was a rep for Deere in south Georgia in 08 when the 7760 was just hitting the ground. We'd go visit gins and they'd just tear a guy up and down about how bad the idea was as they were going to have to spend a bunch of coin to update. Being a midwest guy and not having much of a cotton background all the people it took to run a module builder, buggies, etc it seemed like a no brainer other than the upfront cost. But I remember one farmer down there told me I don't care what a 7760 costs. If my guy who is supposed to run the module builder does not show up for work I'm screwed. That year the CIH module express came out. Standing there watching them on the end of a field compressing over and over just seemed stupid. Back then we had like 95% nationwide market share in pickers. Can't imagine what they have now. | |
