Brookston, IN | Based on my experience you will want a bigger wet bin. We run and 8 row head on a class7 combine. We use a 10,000 bu flat bottom bin for wet holding. We save some dry corn from the previous year to make a cone so we effectively have about 8500 bu for wet corn. If we start the combine running at 9am in 20% corn we have the wet bin and 3 semis setting full by 6pm. We wind up with the dryer running out of corn about 6am. I would like to have a couple thousand bu more wet capacity so the dry can run continuously unless we want stop it rather than having to restart it every morning. | |
