NNY | With the low interest rates from FSA on storage/drying i would build it all at once. Like others have said the more wet storage the better. We put up our system in 2014 not knowing too much about drying corn as our area is 95% dairy. We put up 2 48' (75,000bu) bins. 24 ft CF dryer, 14,000 bu wet bin and an air system. I wish now we had put in a leg instead of the air system but all in all the system works well. We run an 8 row chopping head on a CASE 6130, 875 cart and 2 or 3 Tandems depending on distance. Since we dry/cool in the dryer, the dryer is our bottleneck. We are now looking to add another bin as a hedge against our high moisture and corn silage sales. | |
