Palm- quick question on the end of Jan new crop bean supplies coming from SA.
Everyone always posts about SA bean supplies in Jan yet it seems like the bean market “here” doesn’t really go up until late feb /early March. Basis never “Really” improves until then and the board doesn’t really decline that much for all us cash-rent/operating-note junkies like myself that have/need to sell? Why is there always seeming a lag of about 30 days for price rise after the early beans are in? Esp. Since early bean yields in Brazil are always amazingly high? (Should have put the “amazing” In sarcasm font because it feels like the yield prognosticators are always saying this about early season SA beans.....)
