Are the bulk of the beans in your area exported or crushed? On the lower Ohio River, the basis decline is quite pronounced starting in that late Jan timeframe. Very common to lose 10-15 cents in short order after the 15th of Jan. It will take until the May-June time frame(fieldwork time) to get basis back to where they are in Jan.

The deferred bids will likely get some strength but right now Dec and Jan delivered beans are 29 over. Feb at 16 over and May at 8 over. Add in the inverse and it’s a no brainer to get rid of the beans by the end of Jan at least this far south.
