I've read that same sales pitch...........but I'd sure like to see some tests. My soils are a little P deficient so I've been trying to add lots more as the wallet allows. It's definitely cheaper with 11-52-0 to accomplish that, so I've gone back to not using Rock 40.
Been trying to put 60 lbs actual P on when drilling wheat (about 120 lbs total product). I figure if we don't cut a good wheat crop I can just maybe no till milo or corn in without P..............and if we get lucky with a good wheat crop I should just have the $$ to buy P for the following row crop.
We got to doing the 11-52 over the Rock40 also, just because you get so much more P per pound, and get tired of filling the drill a zillion times.
But have gone back to Rock40. We think we have been leaving yield on the table by not keeping up on the zinc levels.
