Your goal is to obtain the greatest yield with the lowest cost per unit produced. The better soils will usually provide the greatest yield increase with the lowest cost of increased inputs.

On the other hand, no one shoots a sick cow until they have tried to cure it. However, you must remember that you can do your best to train and care for a donkey but no matter what you do, a donkey will never win the Kentucky Derby.
