| If you have room I would recommend a separate tank for the hyd fluid. Ither mounted on frame or behind the cab on the deck if you have the room. Ive even seen the hyd tank mounted on the trailer frame if there wasn't room anywhere on the tractor. First semi we bought we had a local machine shop split one the fuel tanks , weld in a divider & weld the tank back together.mWasnt long until we had to put a new hyd pump on, evidently they didnt get the tank cleaned good & shavings ruined the pump. Weve set up 3 trucks with wet kits since then & have always used a separate tank dedicated to hyd oil.
Will add, never had an issue of the smaller tank emptying out first. Two of our current trucks have two fuel tanks. When running local we usually will fill the driver side tankmonly. Doesn't take long for the fuel tanks to equalise.
