I don't want to sound like a tree hugger because I'm definitely not, but milk weed is the only plant that the monarch butterfly uses to reproduce. That is the one weed I have learned to live with.
My ancestors are likely rolling in their graves: but I mow around milkweed patches in my crp.
I used to be able to control it in row crops with RUP and 2-4-D through the sponge applicator. Hemp dogbane, not so much. I also have noticed monarchs on hemp dogbane as well. They still get mowed though. |
