Subject: RE: Dish soap for mounting tires?

I owned a tire shop for 22+ years. We tried dawn dish soap 1 time. It is not slick enough to properly mount tires. We used Bowes Big Blue liquid straight out of the gallon jug. It is no longer available in our area without ordering it online. I now use NAPA Ruglide not thinned down. It is far slicker than any dish soap and always in stock at our local NAPA. With the dish soap, 22.5 semi tires would not center themselves on the rims. Then they would have a distinct high spot. With rubber lube we never had that problem. Tire beads get ripped when you use a product that is not slick. Been there, seen it, done it.
