NW Washington | I have never seen a fixed knife like that on a plow. The Europeans sometimes use a vertical knife the sticks up from the share to cut the edge of the furrow. Old walking plows also sometimes used a fixed vertical knife to cut the furrow slice. Back in the '50's or before Oliver had a TNT plow that had a short ripper that tore up the bottom of the furrow on all the bottoms except the back one. Folks worried about a "plow sole" back in those days.
