King was a main figure in Bernie Sanders campaign.
That may or may not qualify as an extremist, I guess people will have differently opinions on that! Ha.
But, he is a popular and influential member of the liberal wing of the Democratic Party, not someone you can just dismiss as an individual unimportant radical. He was mainstream during the campaigning.
