Franklinton, LA | A little over 2 weeks ago they held a memorial service in Bogalusa, LA for a suspected drug dealer who had been murdered. Police estimate that about 800 people attended the service. They were pretty sure that several of the people in attendance were armed and they did not have enough police officers to control a crowd that size. They stayed out of the way.
During the service thirteen people got shot and the police recovered over 50 shell casings of various calibers. Apparently no one saw anything or knew what happened.
Washington Parish, with a population of 46,582 had 398 Covid-19 cases on 5-29-20 and we now have 46 more. The current infection rate is 9.53 per 1,000. Apparently large crowds can be a problem. | |
