Texas, the really flat part | I’ve got 2 T8-390’s. I bought them both new, one in 2012, the other in 2013. They’ve got good power, the emissions systems have been pretty trouble free. The hydraulic capacity is great.
The downside.
1. They’ve both launched the engine fan through the radiator. They updated the fan hubs and since then they’ve been okay.
2. The power shift transmission had an c-clip fail that allowed it to lose enough pressure to smoke the clutch packs. That was an $11,000 repair.
3. The 2012 had the cylinder liner o-ring failure last winter. It dumped all the coolant into the oil pan while parked a few months. I caught it be for significant damage occurred, but New Holland stepped up with a reman short block and covered all the labor too. That’s on a tractor that’s 8 years old and 5 years out of warranty.
I like em, the paint holds up well too.
