I started with a non windows computer and then a Microsoft DOS computer, moved through all the windows, 1.1, 3.1, BOB, ME, 98, 98SE, XP, VISTA,7, skipped the 8's and have one with 10 now.

It's got a faster processor, a graphics card, and 8GB of ram, it's also slower than my desktop with less ram, a slower processor and onboard graphics.  In addition the 10 machine is useless each time I boot it for several minutes to an hour because of the Microsoft updates.

It also decides on it's own whether to let me view a file or email.  To say I'm not fond of 10 would be an understatement. 

If a person just wants to see email and browse the Internet I'd highly recommend they install UBUNTU.  I run it as a live version from a flash drive to attend church using ZOOM.
