Western ND | Did a ripper cylinder about that size years ago with it off the machine. It took 3 of us to do it. We had a good vise on a decent table we had to attach to something to make it immobile, one guy ran a rose bud, one hanging on a setup like yours and one guy lifting on a large chain wrench with a cheater on it. Once it broke loose it spun off by hand. Rust was between the nut and the gland. We had tried about everything until the heat came out and a new nut was the next option. Only time I've been scared a Wilton vice was going to break. | |
