Good questions.

For their health, I hope they keep eating red meat. Lots of essential amino acids and nutrients you either can't get or don't get enough of when eating plants. A lot of the obesity in this nation is because of the 50 year war on saturated fat which turned out to be bunk science.

We need to be eating more meat, not less. The current situation is certainly not going to be helpful on that front.
